Last week, we had the privilege of travelling to New York with a small group of our collectors for a rare and intimate visit to Hunt Slonem’s private studio. Walking into his expansive creative space felt like crossing a threshold into a universe entirely his own - a world shaped by colour, rhythm, repetition, and the unmistakable energy of a life devoted to art.

The moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere shifted. Walls alive with bunnies, butterflies, and birds; sculptures catching the light; canvases in every imaginable shade - everything in the space carried the pulse of Hunt’s imagination. His studio is more than a place of creation; it is a living, breathing archive of decades of exploration and artistic evolution. What made this experience truly special, however, was the time spent with Hunt himself. 

He welcomed us with warmth and authenticity, sharing stories about his process, his inspirations, and the spiritual and historical influences woven through his work. As we gathered around him, listening and observing, the conversation flowed effortlessly - touching on technique, childhood memories, world travels, and the rituals that shape his daily practice.

For our collectors, it was a rare opportunity to connect not only with the artwork they love, but with the artist behind it - to understand the emotion, intention, and quiet discipline that fuel each creation. For us as a gallery, it was a meaningful reminder of why we do what we do: to create moments that bring our community closer to the heart of contemporary art. There was a quiet magic in standing where inspiration turns into form - surrounded by brushes, textures, and ideas in motion. 

Being welcomed so personally into the studio of an artist as celebrated as Hunt Slonem is not something we take lightly. It is a privilege, and we are grateful to Hunt for opening his doors to us and our collectors.
